Ondo Releases 2025/2026 Academic Calendar

The Ondo State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has officially released the academic calendar for the 2025/2026 school year, detailing term dates, holidays, and mid-term breaks for all public and private schools across the state.

According to a circular signed by Dr. Akindele Ige, Administrative Secretary of the Ministry, the first term will span 14 weeks, beginning on Monday, September 15, 2025, and ending on Friday, December 12, 2025.

A mid-term break has been scheduled for either Friday, October 31 or Monday, November 3, 2025. Following the conclusion of the first term, students will go on a three-week Christmas and New Year holiday from Monday, December 15, 2025, to Friday, January 2, 2026.

The second term will run for 13 weeks, starting from Friday, January 5, and ending on Wednesday, April 2, 2026. A mid-term break is expected to take place either on Friday, February 20, or Monday, February 23, 2026.

The second term holiday will commence on Tuesday, April 7, and last until Friday, April 24, 2026.

The third term will span 12 weeks, starting on Monday, April 27, and concluding on Friday, July 24, 2026. The mid-term break will fall on either Friday, June 12 or Monday, June 15, 2026.

At the end of the third term, students will go on a seven-week summer break starting Monday, July 27, 2026, and are expected to resume for the 2026/2027 academic session on Friday, September 11, 2026.

The Ministry emphasized that both public and private schools must strictly adhere to the outlined schedule. The circular also instructed all schools to observe all public holidays declared by the federal and state governments accordingly.

The academic calendar, according to the Ministry, is aimed at ensuring proper planning and coordination of academic activities throughout the state.
