Police Confirms Destruction of 33 Huts in Adamawa Communal Clash

The Adamawa State Command of the Nigeria Police has confirmed that thirty-A huts were burnt after a communal clash in Lamurde Local Government Area.

The police explained the Chobo and Bachama people in the LGA had been involved in a brawl over long disputed land, adding that it had now been excalated into the large scale destruction which prompted heavy deployment of police personnel to restore order.

The police, in a statement obtained this morning note that all was now calm in the area, except for the scars of destruction.

According to the Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, to strengthen security and prevent a further breakdown of law and order, more mobile police force personnel from Operation Farauta and Counter Terrorism unit have been deployed to the area.

He added that investigations were on course to identify the perpetrators of the crisis.
