I was Once a Persecutor, Scattered Fellowship with Catapult – Lanre Ogundipe

A one time president of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Elder Lanre Ogundipe has revealed how he got converted as a Christian.

Elder Ogundipe who explained how disturbing he was during his undergraduate days back at the university of Ibadan noted that he had scattered fellowship activities of the Gboko based popular preacher, Bro Gbile Akani with catapult in their hay days at the premier university

Delivering a lecture at the New Haven Baptist Church, Ikolaba , Ibadan with the topic “The Social Media: Christianity and Evangelism” Elder Ogundipe narrated how his wife was instrumental to his Conversion through attempts to lure him to attend church programmes until her efforts paid off.

I was in my home in Abuja, my wife bought wanted me to attend a programme at ECWA church in Wuse, infact she bought me a packed shirt to lure me to church but I was watching a football match, so she left in anger”

But all of a sudden, something moved me, I dressed up and move to the church, as I was entering the church, I heard an altar call, I didn’t sit down, I just moved straight to the altar”

Elder Ogundipe added that Immediately the preacher Bro Gbile Akani saw him before the alter, he said “God catch am… Lanre Ogundipe was our persecutor in our days in UI”

I recall I usually scatter fellowship gathering with catapult, alledging that their activity causes a grave disturbance to me and my cronies.”

Elder Ogundipe who is now an international missioner expressed joy that his persecuting spirit had given way to a divine calling and passion to win souls to the kingdom of God across the globe

He enjoined Christians to leverage on the potentials of New Media to spread the gospel of Christ and the kingdom of God so as to achieve a sane and righteous society
