Understanding Purpose in The Christian Ministry (PART 8)

Sharing is caring!

By Raphael Adegoke

For God, who was at work in Peter as an apostle to the circumcised, was also at work in me as an apostle to the Gentiles.” (Gal. 2:8).

All glory to God it’s another bright and beautiful day and another week. May the joy of the Lord forever be our strength! Amen! Last week, we considered “Understanding Scope”, but today we shall be considering “Understanding the Subject Area”.

A life void of understanding will never be able to attain its full potentials and that’s why the scriptures admonish us to get understanding though it costs us all we’ve got.  “Wisdom is of utmost importance, therefore get wisdom, and with all your effort work to acquire understanding.” (Proverbs 4:7).

Every minister who has been genuinely called and has genuinely received the call is designed peculiarly for a specific purpose and sent with a unique message. This is spiritually innate. It is not something you earn by prayers or by studying the Bible, sacred or secular materials. These only enhance that which you are designed for and given. These as well only help to develop your spiritual muscles, increase your level of authority in your subject area.

You will surely agree that the better to speak on “The Techniques of Soaring” between eagle and elephant shall be the eagle. A lion will teach better on “The techniques of Jungle Hunting” than a fish while a fish will perform better at teaching on “Navigating your Path through the Oceans”. These abilities are innate. These are not acquired through training or mentorship, but can only be mentored for enhancement.

We are in a generation where we’ve got many Lion-Ministers waiting on or serving under Eagle-Ministers and waiting on such Eagles to impart them so they can become high flyers like the eagles. There are many Fish-Ministers serving under Lion-Ministers so they can be imparted to become kings of Jungles. What a waste of time (life). No man can impart good voice on another, but can only train another’s voice.

Two of the incommunicable attributes of God are omniscience and omnipotence. These, He does not share with any man, but only the members of the Godhead. So, just as we know the impossibility of these for man or any minister, it is high time we came to the understanding of that reality, conserve our energies on frivolities and focus on that which is primary to our calling. It’s high time we stopped non-curtailed ambitions that take us away from the purpose of God and our callings.

There is an inexplicable power, authority, grace and anointing that back up our messages when it is that which is divinely communicated through us in our Subject Area. This will be achievable by going back to God, submitting ourselves to Him to carry out objective and thorough assessment of us, and by accepting a humble heart to begin all over if need be. We haven’t gone too far to begin again, because the journey is still very long.
