Oyo NAWOJ Distributes Sanitary Pads To School Girls, Boosts Attendance During Menstruation
Nigeria Association of women Journalists, NAWOJ, Oyo state chapter has launched a Pad-A Girl Initiative to curb absenteeism among girls during menstruation
Distributing the sanitary pads to female students of Saint Theresa’s College, Oke Ado, Ibadan, NAWOJ Chairperson in Oyo state, Mrs Omolola Alamu, admonished the girls to prioritize their personal hygiene.
Mrs Alamu noted that many girls in the society missed school due to lack of access to sanitary pads, saying the Pad-a-Girl initiative would boost their self esteem in school.
Some of the students appreciated Oyo Nawoj for the gesture and appeal to good spirited Nigerians to tackle issues relating to their health and education.
