The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ondo State Command, has commemorated the International Day of Peace with a Peace Awareness Rally and lecture.
International Day of Peace is globally observed on 21st September.
The rally aimed at reminding the citizens of the sunshine state that peace is not a luxury but the foundation upon which every society can thrive.
A commemorative lecture with the theme, ‘Act now for a peaceful world,’ was delivered by Mrs Stella-Ikeokwu Nathaniel, the state coordinator, Partner for Peace (P4P) in the Niger Delta.
She emphasized that peace is everybody’s business and begins with the small, everyday actions, while urging participants to make a personal commitment to urgently act for peace.
‘Our collective actions, no matter how small, can create a ripple effect that leads to a more peaceful, just, and prosperous world for all.’
