The Nigeria Customs Service, Oyo/Osun Command has generated over Two point Five Billion Naira within three months.
The area comptroller of the Service, Mr Joseph Adelaja, stated this during a media briefing held at the command headquarters, Agodi Ibadan, Oyo State.
Comptroller Adelaja noted that the achievement recorded covering March, April, and May 2025 was an increase of same months in 2024 when over eighteen billion naira was generated.
He noted that the success was due to the commitment of the officers and men as well as the support from the members of the public who provided credible information that led to seizures of contraband goods by the Zone
Itemizing the seized goods to include foreign rice, premium motor spirit, PMS, popularly known as Petrol, used compressors, used tyres, and fairly used clothes.
Other items were cannabis sativa, fake pharmaceutical products, Mazda, and sienna buses.
The area controller further sought continued support of Nigerians at curbing smuggling in the interest of boosting the nation’s economy.
