Governor Makinde Advises Corps Members Against Reckless Lifestyle

Oyo state governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde has advised corps members serving in the state not to engage in reckless lifestyle or embark on indiscriminate journey so as not to cut short their lives.

Governor Makinde who gave the warning at the closing parade for 2023 Batch C Stream 1 orientation course held at NYSC orientation camp, Iseyin noted that the one year mandatory service was not for gallivanting but period of sober reflection on how to achieve success during and after the service year.

Represented by Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Miss Wosilat Adegoke, the governor counselled the corps members to be more focused and devoted on skills acquisition and entrepreneurial development to be self reliant after the NYSC programme

In an address, State coordinator, NYSC, Oyo State, Mr. Abel Oche, enjoined Corps employers to ensure adequate welfare of corps members posted to their establishments to Cushing the effect of the current economic realities in their services to the nation

Mr. Oche who explained that the current economic situation which had over bearing impact on the living condition of the people noted that provision of welfare packages and accommodation, would boost their morale to perform optimally.

Accept them with love, correct their mistakes and commend them when necessary.

The over one thousand eight hundred corps members who had undergone twenty one days intensive orientation training at the camp recieved deployment letters to their places of primary assignment for continuation of their one Year national service.
