A former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Professor Olusola Eleka, has resigned the from the peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
This is contained in a resignation letter made available on Thursday,
He noted that he had written to the national leadership of the party to notify them of his withdrawal, citing that the PDP has been deviating from the path of constructive opposition.
Prof Eleka’s decision comes after a long history of service to the party.
He was once the deputy governor under former Governor Ayodele Fayose and even ran for the governorship seat in 2018. However, it seems that Eleka’s relationship with Fayose and the party leadership has soured over time.
