Sharing is caring!

The Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri, Imo State, has supended a lecturer, Mr Okoroafor Ifeanyichukwu, after beating a male student for disregarding his instructions

A viral video circulated earlier in the week showed students standing around the lecturer when a boy changes his position.

Immediately, the lecturer goes after him, slaps him, and delivers a kick that sends him to the ground, his back hitting the concrete.

The incident occurred on Thursday while students were queuing to enter a hall for an entrepreneurship training session.

The victim was seen rushing to join his fellow students when Mr Ifeanyichukwu confronted him

In the video, the lecturer was heard saying, “Why don’t you stay there and tell me since I said nobody should enter?” The students around him were heard pleading, repeatedly saying, “Sorry sir, sorry sir, sorry sir.”

Reacting to the incident, the school management suspended Mr Ifeanyichukwu from duty as a facilitator in the Technical and Entrepreneurship Development Centre.

In an official statement signed by Dr. Okoye P.C., Director TEDC the institution announced, “You are hereby suspended from duty as a facilitator in the Technical and Entrepreneurship Development Centre pending the outcome of investigation into the incident that occurred yesterday, 13th March, 2025, at the site of your entrepreneurship training.”

Meanwhile, the lecturer in a new video has apologized for assaulting the student, saying it was out of anger and not due to any family issue.

He added that no matter the situation, it is not enough reason to beat the boy.
