Comedian-turned-preacher Oluwatoyin Bayegun popularly known as Woli Arole has taken a firm stand against the longstanding, patriarchal belief that women should remain silent in marriage—a mindset still deeply entrenched in certain cultural and societal circles.
In a thought-provoking Instagram post, Arole challenged the notion that women lack the agency to express their thoughts or opinions within the marital relationship. He called this ideology “fundamentally flawed,” stressing that silencing women is not only harmful but also counterproductive to building a healthy and balanced home.
Arole clarified that while some may misinterpret biblical or cultural ideas of submission, these should never be equated with voicelessness or intellectual inferiority. He emphasized that true partnership involves mutual respect and open communication.

The preacher also highlighted how a woman’s voice can be instrumental in navigating family challenges and offering much-needed clarity during difficult times.
