The All Progressives Congress (APC) has recorded significant victories in its Ondo State House of Assembly primary elections, with Hon. Adeola Rosemary Fynch emerging as the party’s candidate for Akure South Constituency I, while incumbent lawmaker, Hon. Stephen Abitogun, secured re-election as the party’s flagbearer for Akure South Constituency II ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The outcome of the primaries marks another major step in the APC’s preparations for the next electoral cycle, with party leaders describing the process as peaceful, consensus-driven, and reflective of growing internal unity across the state.
For Hon. Adeola Rosemary Fynch, her emergence represents both a personal milestone and what many party supporters have described as a fresh chapter for political representation in Akure South Constituency I. Speaking shortly after her victory, an elated Fynch expressed gratitude to party faithful and residents of the constituency for the confidence reposed in her.
According to her, the victory is not only an honour but also a responsibility she intends to discharge with dedication and commitment.
“It feels good. I’m happy for this honour and the trust bestowed upon me. I thank all my constituency people. They won’t regret this,” she said.
Fynch further pledged to deliver quality representation if elected into the Ondo State House of Assembly, assuring constituents that she would prioritize grassroots development and work tirelessly to justify the support she has received.
“They should expect nothing but quality representation. I have always promised them I will make them proud, and I will put in more effort when I get there,” she added.
Party stakeholders at the event also stressed the importance of post-primary reconciliation, urging aspirants, supporters, and members to close ranks and work collectively toward ensuring victory for the APC in future elections.
