Sharing is caring!

The Super Eagles of Nigeria has defeated Libya in the AFCON 2025 qualifying match which took place at the Godswill Akpabio stadium in Uyo on Friday evening.

With the victory, the Super Eagles have secured a comfortable lead with 7 points from 4 matches while Benin Republic beat Rwanda 3-0 to maintain the heat on Nigeria in second place on the Group D log

The Super Eagles’ victory over the Libyans in their second leg match on Tuesday will almost ensure them a spot at the 2025 AFCON in Morocco the following year.

In three AFCON 2025 qualifiers, Augustine Eguavoen, the interim head coach, had only two wins. Nigeria had been in danger of losing the three points due to their subpar finishing and a controversial offside call.

The two teams will face off again in Benina, Libya, on Tuesday in their fourth Group D second-leg match.
