Tinubu Should Approve N100,000 as New National Minimum Wage – Baptist Pastor
The Minister-in-charge of Oke Ado Baptist Church, Ibadan church, Rev’d Sunday Adeboje has called on president Tinubu to approve One hundred thousand (₦100,000) as the New national minimum wage.
Speaking in an interview with Prime News, Rev’d Adeboje explained that the figure, if signed by the president would be widely accepted in view of the economic challenges rocking the country, adding that civil servants would be able to meet their obligations without breaking the bank.
The Clergyman tasked the federal government on revitalisation of moribund industries to tackle inflation as well as provision of stable power supply and security to make life better.
“Our leaders should be responsive to our yearnings, they should try as much as possible to stop insurgents, they should invest in agriculture , companies are folding up. We are not producing anything that’s why dollar is rising and so all the moribund industries should be revitalised, so that our graduate youths will be gainfully employed and the country will make money from exports.”
Rev’d Adeboje appealed to organised labour to accept #100,000, urging them to be realistic so as not to plung the nation into another economic woes.
“Organised labour should be realistic with the figures, they should not push government to undertake what they cannot sustain or may lead to mass sack. We are still advocating job employment for our unemployed youths, so we can’t stand another mass retrenchment from government on the ground of inability to pay salaries”
