Osun state governor , senator Ademola Adeleke has condemned the killing of a teenager, in Ilobu yesterday and called for immediate arrest and prosecution of those behind the killing.
This is contained in a statement signed by the spokesperson for the govenor, Mallam olawale Rasheed.
The govenor described the incident as another bitter example of alleged complicity of the state police command in the political violence in parts of the state.
Governor Adeleke who condoled the family of the victim expressed shock over alleged increasing complicity of the police in Osun political violence .
The governor also reprimanded the police for its protection of APC local government chairmen in the state emphasizing the need to respect the rule of law, the electoral act and the Nigerian constitution to sustain democratic governance.
He stressed that his administration has filed several petitions to relevant security establishments on the impunity and the threats to peace and security of Osun state.
Govenor Adeleke used the medium to once again alert the Presidency and the Inspector General of Police that the police in Osun state have allegedly surrendered to political thugs and even providing support services to them.
He expressed the fear that residents of the state have been pushed to the wall as failure of the police to enforce the law can force citizens to resort to self help.
