An aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon. Adeola Fynch, has pledged to bring grassroots experience to governance while promoting inclusive development and effective representation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Fynch made the commitment during an interactive session with members of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Ondo State chapter, held in Akure.
Describing herself as a “true daughter of Akure,” the aspirant said her decision to contest was driven by her deep connection to the people and a clear understanding of their challenges.
She noted that her passion for service is reflected in her foundation, established nearly eight years ago in honour of her late mother, which focuses on empowering women, supporting children, and assisting vulnerable groups.
Highlighting her experience in public service, Fynch cited her roles as Special Assistant on Mobilization to Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa and former Secretary of Akure South Local Government, saying the positions have prepared her for legislative duties.
Speaking on her agenda for Akure South Constituency 1, she said her priorities were shaped by consultations with residents, with a focus on improved representation, youth empowerment, and economic development. 
On youth unemployment, Fynch identified the lack of employable skills as a major challenge and proposed initiatives such as skill acquisition programmes, job placements, and entrepreneurship support.
She also stressed the need for merit-based inclusion of women in leadership, advocating competence and capacity over tokenism.
The aspirant assured constituents of transparency and accountability, noting that integrity and dedication would guide her actions if elected.
Fynch expressed confidence in her chances in the 2027 elections, citing positive feedback from constituents and reiterating her commitment to delivering on her promises.
Earlier, the Chairperson of NAWOJ in Ondo State, Comrade Tola Gbadamosi, commended Fynch for contesting in a male-dominated political space and urged her to champion women’s interests if elected.
She added that the association remains committed to supporting increased female participation in politics by providing platforms for engagement and visibility.
