Vigilante Recovers N20m Cash Ransom from Kidnappers in Oyo
Men of Vigilante Group of Nigeria, VGN Oyo state command have recovered twenty million cash paid as ransom by family of a victim to three kidnappers
Prime news gathered that two young men, Umoru Abubakar aged 22years and Timbaya Abubakar 18yrs were abducted from their Igbetti, Oyo state home last weekend after which the suspects demanded a ransom for their release.
However, unknown to the criminals, operatives of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, VGN were contacted by the victim’s relations and both worked out a plan to burst the crime.
The plan, it was gathered, became the bait that led to a gun duel between the suspected kidnappers and the Vigilantes inside the forest where the criminals were sharing the money.
Three of the suspects reportedly escaped with gunshot injuries leaving behind the cash ransom which according to the Vigilante group has been returned to the owner.
The commander, Vigilante Group of Nigeria, VGN Oyo state command, Mr. Sunday Olajide inna reaction, called for a robust synergy between government security agencies and recognized, registered vigilante groups to enhance protection of lives and property at the grassroots.
