Unilorin Expels 14 Students Over Various Offences

Fourteen undergraduate students in the University of Ilorin have been expelled by the management of the institution.

The expelled students include 500, 400, 300 and 100 Levels. The affected students were drawn from various Faculties and Departments which included Agriculture/Aquaculture and Fisheries; Agriculture/Agricultural Extension and Rural Development, Arts/Linguistics and Nigerian Languages; CIS/Library and Information Science, CIS/ Telecommunication Science.

Others are Education/Adult and Primary Education Studies, Engineering and Tech/Electrical and Electronic Engineering,Engr and Tech/ Materials and Metallurgical Engineering as well as Life Science/Zoology.

A statement by the university’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Kunle Akogun, says the students were expelled over examination malpractices.

The statement notes that the Vice Chancellor’s approval of their expulsion was sequel to the recommendations of the Students’ Disciplinary Committee at its 219th meeting held in January this year.
