In what has left residents of Katsina metropolis in shock, a Customs officer, identified as Assistant Superintendent of Customs (ASC) Lawal Tukur, has been found dèad in a hotel room under mysterious circumstances.
The late officer was said to have checked into Murjani Hotel with three women, identified as Khadija Ali, Aisha Lawal, and Hafsat Yusuf, before tragedy struck.
Hotel staff discovered Tukur’s lifeless body hours later, prompting immediate reports to the police.
Sources at the hotel said some empty sachets of suspected substances were found in the waste basket of the room.
The three women, who reportedly lodged with him, have since been arrested for questioning as investigations intensify to uncover the cause of death.
Authorities are yet to confirm whether foul play was involved, but security operatives have assured the public that a thorough investigation is underway to determine what transpired in the hotel room.
The incident has sparked widespread public discussion across Katsina, with many calling for greater scrutiny of criminal activities in local hospitality establishments.
