Tragedy as RUGIPO Student Found Lifeless in Room, Police Launch Investigation

A tragic incident has been reported in Emure-Ile, Ondo State, where a 20-year-old student of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Audi Emmanuel, was found dead in his room under circumstances suspected to be suicide.
The deceased, a Computer Engineering student of the institution, was discovered lifeless inside his residence, sparking shock and grief within the community.
The development has left residents and fellow students struggling to come to terms with the sudden loss, as details surrounding the incident remain unclear.
His body was later evacuated from the scene and deposited at a morgue for preservation and further examination.
Confirming the incident, the Ondo State Police Command said it had commenced an investigation into the circumstances leading to the death.
The Command’s spokesperson, Abayomi Jimoh, stated that police operatives visited the scene shortly after the report was received.
He explained that preliminary findings suggest a suspected case of suicide, adding that a thorough investigation is ongoing to establish the actual cause of death.
According to him, the body was recovered and deposited in the morgue for necessary procedures, including possible autopsy.
The police spokesperson also extended the Command’s condolences to the family of the deceased over the tragic incident.
He further urged members of the public to prioritise their mental well-being and seek help during emotional distress, stressing that support systems are available to those in need.
