Residents of Omisanjan area in Ado-Ekiti were thrown into shock on Thursday morning after the corpse of a young woman was discovered beside a stream.
The body was reportedly found by a farmer who was on his way to his farm. On sighting the corpse, he raised an alarm and alerted people in the neighbourhood.
Speaking with our correspondent, some residents suspected that the deceased might be the same lady who was swept away by floodwaters at Falegan area of Ado-Ekiti on Wednesday.
Officials of the Nigeria Police Force and the Ekiti State Fire Service were promptly contacted and have since evacuated the body from the scene.
Investigations are ongoing to ascertain the identity of the victim and the circumstances surrounding her death.
