Portharcourt Refinary Begins Operation in December – NNPCL

The Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, Mr. Mele Kyari has confirmed that the Port Harcourt refinery will start working in next month.

Mr. Kyari confirmed this during his meeting with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Tajudeen Abbas.

He also informed the Speaker that the rehabilitation of the state-run refineries were in progress, saying it would put an end to the importation of petrol by December next year.

Mr. Kyari noted that early in the first quarter of 2024, the Warri refinery would become operational while and the Kaduna refinery will come into operation by the end of next year.

He added that in the new year, many of the initiatives including the rehabilitation of the nation’s refineries and also the efforts of small-scale refineries as well as the upcoming Dangote refinery, would make the country a net exporter of petroleum products.
