Popular Nigerian senstional juju musician, Iyun Janet Ajilore, widely known as St Janet, is dead.
The news of her passing was announced on Sunday by publisher and socialite, Otunba Femi Davies, in a post shared on his social media platforms.
According to Davies, the renowned singer died on Saturday after a brief illness.
He wrote: “St Janet (Iyun Janet Ajilore), a popular Nigerian juju and highlife musician known for her vibrant live performances, energetic stage presence, and socially unfiltered party tracks, is dead.
“She died after a brief illness on Saturday.”
St Janet was celebrated for her energetic performances and distinctive style, which earned her a loyal following among lovers of juju and highlife music across Nigeria.
The cause of her illness was not disclosed, and the family has yet to issue an official statement.
