The Osun State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of several suspects linked to the recent attack on popular Fuji musician, Alhaji Wasiu Alabi Ajibola, popularly known as Pasuma, in Ikire, Osun State.
The State Command, Public Relations Officer, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, who confirmed the incident to newsmen, said the command has commenced investigation and had apprehended some suspects connected to the attack.
According DSP Ojelabi, the attack occurred shortly after Pasuma concluded his performance last Saturday, at the coronation ceremony of Chief Wasiu Ajanaku who was installed as the Mogbede of Ikire Land and was about to leave the venue.
DSP Ojelabi ” Some suspected hoodlums began pelting his convoy with stones, damaging a Hilux van and another vehicle in the entourage.
The event was reported to have been successful until some hoodlums disrupted the peace as Pasuma made his way to his vehicle. They launched an attack on him and his band members.”
However, it remains unclear if Pasuma or any of his band members sustained injuries during the attack.
Meanwhile, tennsion has reportedly gripped the town of Ikire over fears of a possible reprisal from the singer’s fans.
