The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Oyo State Council, has urged the Chairman of the Oyo State Pacesetter Transport Company to refrain from taking actions that could threaten industrial peace in the state.
In a statement issued on Monday, the NLC expressed concern over alleged plans by the Pacesetter Chairman to dismiss staff members of the organization. The congress emphasized that such a move lacks the endorsement of Governor Seyi Makinde or the Oyo State House of Assembly.
We categorically state that these intentions have no backing or support from His Excellency, Engr Seyi Makinde, or the Oyo State Assembly,” the statement read.
The NLC called on the Pacesetter Chairman to embrace dialogue and engage with relevant stakeholders before making decisions that could affect the welfare of workers.
Maintaining peace and stability is crucial for the state’s progress,” the union stressed.
The statement was signed by the Secretary of the NLC Oyo State Congress.
