Oyo LVJ to Elect New Executives May 28

The League of Veteran Journalists (LVJ), Oyo State Council, has announced plans to elect new executives on Thursday, May 28, 2026.

The election is scheduled to take place at the LVJ House, NUJ Press Centre, Iyaganku, Ibadan, beginning at 2 p.m., with the swearing-in of successful candidates to follow immediately after the exercise.

This was contained in a press release jointly signed by the Chairman of the LVJ Electoral Committee, Veteran Shola Akinuli, and the Secretary, Veteran Omodele Idris.

The statement outlined key details of the electoral process and urged members to participate actively.

According to the release, positions to be contested include Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Treasurer, Publicity Secretary, Social Secretary, Internal Auditor, and Welfare Officer. Interested members have been encouraged to indicate their interest in any of the available offices.

The Electoral Committee disclosed that nomination forms are already available for collection at the LVJ House, located within the NUJ Press Centre, Iyaganku, Ibadan.

Aspirants are expected to obtain and complete the forms in line with the guidelines provided. It further stated that the submission of completed nomination forms will close on April 30, 2026.

The committee emphasized that no entries will be accepted after the deadline, urging prospective candidates to comply strictly with the timeline.

The release added that campaigns for the election will commence on May 1, 2026, and end on May 21, 2026, ahead of the election date, while assuring members of a transparent and credible process.
