Osun Assembly Passess State University Establishment Amendment Bill

The Osun State House of Assembly has passed the Osun State University Establishment Amendment Bill 2026 into law.

‎The benefits of the Bill includes, Grants and Scholarship for University students, strengthening the public interest in the institution, boosting staff welfare among others.

‎The Deputy Majority Leader, Prince Adekunle Emmanuel, moved the motion for the passage of the Bill, which was seconded by the member representing Atakumosa East and West Constituencies, Mr. Sanmi Areoye, during plenary held at the Assembly Complex in Osogbo.

‎In his remarks, the Speaker of the House, Prince Adewale Egbedun, said the Bill would benefit Osun State University and strengthen public interest in the institution.

‎Prince Egbedun said the Bill would inspire members of staff to contribute more to the development of the institution.

‎He added that the final copy of the Bill would be produced and forwarded to the State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, for assent.

‎The lawmakers had earlier dissolved into the Committee of the Whole to make the necessary corrections and amendments before the final passage of the Bill.
