The Ondo State Police Command has arrested three suspected members of a notorious inter-state armed robbery syndicate allegedly responsible for a series of attacks and criminal operations across Ondo and Lagos States.
Those arrested in are identified as Promise Daniel (aged 34), Ifeanyi Umahi (29) and Adaramoye Abayomi (37), following a painstaking intelligence-led operations by men of the state Command after the suspects carried out armed robbery operations around Iju/ Ita-Ogbolu in Akure North Local Government Area.
The State Commissioner of Police, Mr Felix Ohagwu, paraded the suspects at the force Headquarters in Akure and seven other suspects arrested in connection with land dispute in Ore area.
According to the Police Commissioner, the command acted on credible intelligence and sustained surveillance to intercept the suspects while they were travelling in ash colour Mercedes-Benz, which led to the recovery of One AK-47 rifle; One magazine loaded with eighteen rounds of live ammunition; One English-made pistol loaded with four (4) rounds of live ammunition; One UTC axe; charms and One iron cutter.
On the land dispute at Kajola, around Ore, Mr Felix Ohagwu, warned individuals involved in civil disputes, particularly land matters pending before competent courts, against resorting to self-help or violence.
The Commissioner assured residents of Ondo State that a thorough and diligent investigation would be conducted into the two cases and affirm that all suspects found culpable will be charged to court.
