The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State has conducted training for media aides of governorship aspirants within the party.

The event held in Akure, the Ondo State capital was well attended by stalwarts of the party.

Declaring the one day seminar open, PDP state Chairman Mr Tola Alabere, urged the media aides to set their eyes on winning the November, 2024 election.

The Chairman who emphasized the need for the media aides to exercise caution in their posts on social media, added that the party would need them more after the primary election which would come up in few days.

He noted that the party members must be united in order to wrestle power from the ruling APC, adding that such would not be achieved under a divided PDP.

“The essence of the training is to let the people know that the PDP is the party to beat in the State. We should not let our activities on the social media divide but unite us. Use your energy against the APC instead of us fighting ourselves on the social media.

“Governor Seyi Makinde once told me that the PDP in Oyo State is more fragmented than that of Ondo State. But that when it was time to fight the APC, they united to achieve it. And that when the PDP got into power, the infighting resumed. So, let’s forget our differences and get to power first before fighting,” Alabere admonished.

The technical session saw the media aides getting to know about, “News reportage for opposition political party,” anchored by the Chief Press Secretary to former Governor Olusegun Mimiko, Mr Eni Akinsola.

“Branding and Perception Management Strategy for PDP, Ondo State,” was handled by former executive member of the party, Southwest, Mr Ayo Fadaka.
