Ogun Police Investigates Death of America Returnee
The Ogun State Police Command says it has commenced investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of a 55 year old man, Sunday Abidoye, whose lifeless body was discovered in the hotel room at Sagamu area of the state.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, who disclosed this in a statement in Abeokuta said the deceased had been evacuated to Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, OOUTH, Morgue in Sagamu for an autopsy.
The PPRO explained that the Chief Security Officer of the hotel, identified as Oluwole, had reported the incident regarding the discovery of a deceased customer to the police while the deceased’s brother, Mr Jimoh Godday also informed the police that his late brother arrived Nigeria from the USA on Saturday before lodging at the hotel.
The Police Spokesperson said the brother had to request a spare key to the room when the occupant failed to answer and open the door, only to discover the lifeless body, adding that various drugs and traditional medicines were recovered from the room.
The PPRO also maintained that a friend of the deceased had confirmed that they purchased nine different types of medication the previous due to complaints of illness by the late Sunday Abioye
