The Director General, National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, has appealed to state governors to upgrade the facilities of NYSC orientation camps in their domains.
Brigadier General Nafiu made the appeal during a visit to the NYSC Permanent orientation camp Iseyin, Oyo state
The NYSC DG who explained that he had visited nysc camps in 34 states noted that the camps were over stretched due to increase in the number of corps members deployed for orientation course hence the need to upgrade the facilities so as to cater for the upsurge of graduates from higher institutions
He charged the over three thousands batch A Stream 2 corps members undergoing the three weeks orientation course to brazen up to the task of engendering a brighter and prosperous future for Nigeria
Earlier, in an address of welcome, the Oyo state coordinator, NYSC , Mr Peters Kayode, hailed the new DG reform, which had yielded the implementation of seventy seven thousands naira increased allowance for corps members
