NYSC Allays Fear of Possible Cholera Outbreak in Camp

The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC has assured corps members of Safety against cholera during their orientation course in Iseyin, Oyo State.

The NYSC State Coordinator, Mr Abel Oche gave the assurance in his introductory address during the swearing-in ceremony of Batch B stream one corps members held at NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp Iseyin Oyo State.

Mr Oche explained that the camp facilities had been fortified again the disease before the arrival of the corps members, saying safety measures, such as sanitation and hygiene instructions had been handed to them including the provision of hand sanitizers to forestall possible infection during the three weeks training exercise.

He however solicited the support of the Oyo state government, Corps employers and well meaning nigerians to assist in the roofing of the multi-purpose hall under construction to enhance itch free orientation exercise during rainy season.

Declaring the orientation course open, Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde represented by the Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Miss Wasilat Adegoke, encouraged newly sworn-in corps members to see their service as a call to sacrifice, dedication, perseverance, and humility.

He noted that their presence in the state would not only allow them to make new friends and learn from the experiences of others but also provide an opportunity to contribute to the development of the state through various government programs.

Two thousand five hundred and thirteen corps members, comprising eight hundred and fifty two males, one thousand six hundred and sixty one females posted to Oyo State swore to the NYSC oath of allegiance led by the representative of the state chief judge, Justice O.S Akinyemi
