NUJ Urges Governor Aiyedatiwa to Declare Friday as Farming Day for Workers

The Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ondo State Council has called on the state Governor, Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa to declare every Friday of the week as farming day to enable workers grow foods.

The union which decried the increasing activities of burglars and domestic thieves in Akure the state capital, noted that the ugly trend was consequent on the economic hardship caused by fuel subsidy removal and Naira policy by President Bola Tinubu led administration

In a communique released after a Congress meeting presided over by the state chairman, Comrade Leke Adegbite, on Thursday 30th May,2024, the union states that giving workers the opportunity to to farm would tackle food shortage and its high price.

The Congress bemoaned the dilapidating state of the state owned media outfits, describing it as an embarrassment and called on the Ondo State government to rescue the media organizations from total collapse

“That the Congress bemoaned the epileptic and deplorable conditions of the ONDO State Government- owned media organizations, the Ondo State Radiovision Corporation, OSRC, noting that the three channels, OSRC TV, Orange FM and Alalaye Radio have been off air for some times.”
