A tragic incident unfolded in the Atikankan area of Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State, where an unidentified man was stabbed to death during a violent altercation among local youths.
Eyewitnesses report that the clash erupted following the visit of a philanthropist who came to the area to distribute alms to destitutes. Disagreements over the shared funds reportedly escalated into a physical fight, leading to the fatal stabbing.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Ekiti State Police Command, SP Sunday Abutu, stated that two suspects have been apprehended in connection with the case. He added that investigations were currently underway.
In the meantime, the area has been cordoned off by law enforcement officers to prevent further unrest and ensure the safety of resident.
