Corps members posted to oyo state have been urged to embrace skills learning so as to attain self-reliance and national economic boost.
The oyo state governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, gave the advice at the swearing in ceremony of 2025 Batch B stream 2 corps members held at NYSC Permanent orientation camp, Iseyin
The governor who spoke through the Director of youth development, Ministry of youth and sports, Alhaja Kudirat Mustapha, noted that partnership with the NYSC, will continue to support initiatives that ensure corp members safety, welfare, and empowerment.
He charged them to embrace the values of integrity, hard work, respect for cultural diversity, and peaceful coexistence throughout their one year mandatory service in the state.
“Let me remind you that your conduct, attitude, and choices during this service year will reflect not just your personal character but also your commitment to nation-building.”
Earlier in his address of welcome, the Oyo State Coordinator of the NYSC, Mr. Peters Kayode charged the corps members to take the orientation course seriously so as to be better equipped for the one year mandatory national service.
“The camp is regimented to teach you teamwork, adaptability, and the virtues of communal living. I urge you to conduct yourselves with dignity, embrace discipline, and obey all camp rules and regulations. Participation in all camp activities – lectures, drills, Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development programme, and social events will enrich your experience and prepare you for the greater responsibilities ahead.”
Over two thousand corps members took the oat of allegiance administered by the chief Justice of Oyo state, Justice Iyabo Yerima, represented by Justice M.O. Ishola
