Ibadan Installs Oba Rashidi Ladoja as 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland

Oba Rashidi Ladoja , a former governor and senator, has been coronated as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.

Oba Ladoja was presented the instrument of office by the oyo state governor Engr Seyi Makinde at the historic Mapo Hall.

The creme de creme from far and near, including the president of Nigeria, Asiwaju Boa Tinubu, state governors, lawmakers, captains of industry, and politicians across party lines attended the epoch making ceremony of the installation of the 44th Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Rashidi Ladajo at the ancient Mapo, Ibadan.

In a remark after presenting staff of office to Oba Ladoja, the Oyo state governor Engr Seyi Makinde prayed for his successful reign, emphasizing that all Challemges associated with Ibadan traditional institution was over

In his goodwill message, President Tinubu, while recalling a relationship with Oba Ladoja during democratic struggle, in the Senate and his impeachment saga as governor of Oyo state described him as a realible personality.

In his acceptance speech, Hs Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, said creation of Ibadan state top his agenda for accelerated development of the city.

Oba Ladoja who promised to promote peace ,love and unity of the people at all times disclosed that a multi billion Naira Economic Development Programme for the ancient city would soon be launched with a view to joining hands to revive closed companies in Ibadan.

His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, was born on 25 September 1944 in Gambari village near Ogbomoso, Oyo State, to Pa Yunusa Olayiwola and Madam Halimat Sadia Ladoja. His family has its ancestral homestead in Arusa compound, Isale Osi, Ibadan.
