‘I’m Coming Back Better, Stronger’-Broda Shaggi Speaks After Long Silence

Popular Nigerian comedian and actor, Samuel Perry, better known as Broda Shaggi, has broken his silence after spending several months away from the public eye.

The entertainer, who had maintained a low profile on social media and at public events, returned to communicate with his fans on Friday, expressing appreciation to those who continued to check on him during his absence.

Although Shaggi did not disclose the reason for his withdrawal from public activities, he acknowledged that the support of his fans had been deeply meaningful, particularly at a time when he could not maintain his usual interaction with them.

He said, “To everyone who’s still here… waiting, checking in, showing love, and holding me down even through the silence, thank you.”

The comedian explained that his inability to remain active was not a reflection of his feelings towards his audience.

He added, “Even when I haven’t been able to show up the way I wanted to, knowing that y’all are still here has meant more than I can put into words.”

Shaggi, however, said he was not yet ready to reveal everything surrounding his absence.

“I wish I could tell y’all everything right now… but I can’t. Not yet,” he stated.

The entertainer assured his followers that he had not forgotten them and looked forward to reconnecting with them when the time was right.

He said he hoped to return soon and promised to come back “better, stronger, and ready to make up for all this lost time.”

Shaggi’s prolonged absence followed reports of an alleged shooting incident involving him while he was reportedly working on a comedy production.

The incident was said to have occurred around Sango-Ota in Ogun State and generated widespread concern among his fans.

The Ogun State Police Command had said it could not confirm that the comedian was shot within the state, although it commenced investigation into the matter.

The Command’s spokesperson, Oluseyi Babaseyi, urged the public to allow investigators to establish the facts surrounding the incident.

Meanwhile, the Lagos State Police Command confirmed that it had been alerted by a hospital about a patient receiving treatment for a gunshot injury.

Police officers who visited the hospital reportedly identified the patient as Shaggi and established that he had sustained an injury to his thigh.

The Lagos Command, however, noted that Sango-Ota, where the incident was reportedly said to have occurred, was outside its jurisdiction.

Reports also indicated that the comedian was initially taken to a hospital in the Alakuko area of Lagos before being transferred to another medical facility in Ikeja.

Despite the public interest generated by the incident, Shaggi and his management did not provide a detailed account of what transpired.

Since the incident, Shaggi has remained largely out of the public spotlight, with fans expressing concern over his reduced presence on social media, comedy shows and other public engagements.

His latest message has offered some reassurance, although it has not answered all the questions surrounding his prolonged absence.

The comedian has yet to announce a specific date for his return, but his message suggests that he is preparing for a comeback on his own terms.

Broda Shaggi rose to prominence through his popular social media comedy character and later expanded his career into acting and other entertainment projects.

For now, his fans will have to wait for his next move as the entertainer works towards what he described as a stronger and better return.
