IBADAN EXPLOSION: PDP BoT Calls for Investigation, Justice for Victims

The Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) Board of Trustees (BoT), has called for an investigation into the cause of the explosion, and urged the government to take measures to prevent such tragedies from happening again in the future.

“The PDP BoT reaffirmed its commitment to working with Governor Makinde and the state government to achieve this goal.”

The PDP BoT commiserated with Governor Seyi Makinde and the people of Oyo State, following the tragic explosion in Ibadan. The PDP BoT expressed its deepest sympathies to the victims and their families, and said that it was praying for the quick recovery of those who were injured.

While in Ibadan on Wednesday, the chairman of the PDP BoT and former Senate President, Sen. Adolphus Wabara, who led other members of the party on a visit to Governor Makinde to express their condolences said: “We offer our deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in this tragic incident, and to the people of Oyo State. We are here to offer our sympathy.”

“We commend Governor Makinde for his leadership and compassion in the aftermath of this tragedy. He has shown great strength and resilience in these difficult times. We stand with him and the people of Oyo State as they begin the long process of healing and rebuilding. This is a time for all of us to come together as one, united by a common goal of a brighter and safer future for our state.”

In addition to offering their condolences and support, the PDP BoT team also took the opportunity to urge the people of the state to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities.

Sen. Wabara stressed the importance of unity and vigilance in preventing future tragedies, adding that: “We must not allow this tragedy to divide us or create divisions in our communities. Instead, we must work together to create a stronger and more resilient Oyo State, where the safety and security of all its citizens is a top priority.”

In his remark, Governor Makinde expressed his appreciation for their support and concern, saying he was deeply touched by the PDP BoT’s visit and their kind words of support.”

“This tragedy has been a difficult time for all of us, but we are determined to emerge from it stronger than ever. I want to thank the people of Oyo State for their resilience and strength during this difficult time. I also want to thank the PDP BoT for their solidarity and commitment to our state.”

Governor Makinde went on to outline some of the steps his administration is taking to address the aftermath of the tragedy, which include provision of temporary shelter to the affected victims and provision of financial support for them and their families.

He also spoke about the need to learn from this tragedy and make changes that will prevent similar incidents in the future.

“We will not let this tragedy be in vain. We will use it as an opportunity to make Oyo State a safer and more secure place for all its residents,” the governor said.
