The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ondo State Council, and the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Ondo State Chapter, have concluded arrangements to host an end-of-session party for children of journalists in the state.
In a statement jointly signed by the Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Comrade Oluwatosin Ighoteguono, and the Secretary, Comrade Kemi Ademola, the event is scheduled to hold on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at the NUJ Press Centre, Alagbaka-Akure.
According to the committee, Dr. Damilola Oshin (The Proprietress Mummy’s Place Nursery and Primary School / Emplace College Akure)will be the Mother of the Day; the State NUJ Chairman, Prince Leke Adegbite will be the Chief Host while the NAWOJ State Chairperson, Comrade Tola Gbadamosi will be the host.
The organisers said the party was designed to celebrate the successful completion of the academic session by the children while providing them with an atmosphere of relaxation, fun and social interaction during the long vacation.
According to the statement, the children will be treated to exciting games, music, entertainment, refreshments and several other fun-filled activities carefully planned to give them a memorable and rewarding experience.
It added that a variety of prizes and gifts would be presented to participating children through different competitions with the aim of encouraging excellence, boosting their confidence and making the occasion truly unforgettable.
The Organising Committee enjoined journalists in the state to ensure their children take advantage of the programme, assuring them that adequate arrangements have been put in place to guarantee a safe, enjoyable and memorable event for the children.
