Groom The Nigerian Child as Solution Provider – Prof. Gbolagade Charges Teachers
An Educationist, Professor, Abiodun Gbolagade has enjoined Nigerian teachers to see their roles as crucial to groom solution providers to the challenges confronting the nation.
He gave the advice while speaking on the commemoration of this year’s World Teacher’s Day.
Professor Gbolagade explained that the role of teachers was divine, noting that they should serve as guiding light and mentors to the Nigerian children for career, psychological and moral development.
He implored classroom teachers not to relent in their efforts at identifying potentials in their pupils students under their care and inspire them to be future exemplary world-changers
“We are aware of the present challenges and as we jointly seek lasting solutions, we implore you to continue to use your platforms as positive channels of changing the narratives and correcting the ills of our societies.”
While expressing optimism that the labour of teachers would not go unrewarded, professor Gbolagade advocated better welfare for Nigerian teachers, especially with the current economic realities saying teachers could not skip schools due to the curriculum and academic calendar
