Governor Makinde Charges Youths on Economic Turn Around

The Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde has charged Nigerian youths to braze up to the challenge of economic realities through sharpening of their skills to be self reliant.

The governor stated the charge at swearing in ceremony of 2023 Batch C, Stream 1 corps members held at the permanent orientation camp Iseyin, Oyo state.

The Governor, whose address was read by the commissioner for Youth and Sports Miss Wosilat Adegoke, explained that the current economic challenge requires ingenuity, exceptional skills and talents for a turn around.

He noted that it was expedient for the youths to upscale some entrepreneurial skills already learnt for personal economic sufficiency and that of the country.

Earlier, in his address, State Coordinator, NYSC Mr. Odoba Abel Oche, said one thousand eight hundred and sixty four corps members were registered for the three weeks orientation programme and enjoined the corps members to take advantage of the activities so as to be better equipped for the one year mandatory service.

The swearing-in ceremony had in attendance The Acting Chief Judge of Oyo state, Mrs Iyabo Yerima,the Newly installed Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba Sefiu Oyebola Adeyeri III, security chiefs and representatives of traditional chiefs as well as corporate organisations.
