Governor Adeleke Presents Appointment Letter to Puff-Puff Seller, Grants Scholarship

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on Friday, presented an appointment letter to Miss Oluwatosin Adejumo, a puff-puff seller in Osogbo, as a Chef of the Government House.

The presentation, held in Osogbo and witnessed by her father, Mr. Kayode Adejumo, and Mrs. Funmilayo Ajakaye, who had supported her trade, also came with a scholarship award for the beneficiary to study at Adeleke University.

The gesture fulfilled a promise made by the Governor a week earlier, after a roadside encounter where he patronized Miss Adejumo during a public engagement at the state secretariat. Adeleke had supported her with cash and pledged further assistance.

Miss Adejumo, who holds a National Certificate in Education (NCE), had resorted to hawking puff-puff to support her family before the Governor’s intervention.

Speaking at the event, Governor Adeleke described her as a symbol of the “new Osun spirit,” praising her dignity in labour and commitment to hard work. He reiterated his administration’s resolve to promote empowerment, education, and job creation for youths.

In her response, Miss Adejumo expressed gratitude to the Governor, her family, and her benefactor, describing the opportunity as divine favour and a call to greater responsibility. She encouraged Nigerian youths to embrace skill acquisition and diligence, insisting that “no effort is ever wasted.”
