Officers of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) have been charged to focus on reducing Road Traffic Crashes (RTC) through strict traffic rules enforcement and total abstinence from corrupt practices.
The FRSC Zonal Commander, Osogbo, Assistant Corps Marshal Alphonso Godwin, charged during an oversight visit to the Oyo Sector Command headquarters in Ibadan.
The Zonal Commander advised the operatives to promote the corps’ image positively by avoiding bribery and corruption.
Appreciating the warm reception from representatives of other security agencies and special marshals, the zonal commander emphasised the importance of collaboration and ‘Esprit de corps’ in promoting unity.
“Oyo Sector Command, being the largest command in the zone, must continue to strive to lead in all good parameters.
We must shun all forms of corrupt practices; we also need to attach importance to traffic calming operations so as to reduce road traffic crashes,” he said.
The visit featured a quarter guard parade from representatives of sister security agencies.
Special marshals, Road Safety Officers’ Wives Association (ROSOWA), and members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Road Safety Club were also present.
