First Lady’s Renewed Hope Initiative Empowers 500 Oyo Women with N50,000 Grant

First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu has empowered 500 women across the 33 local government of Oyo State.

Senator Tinubu initiative is to boost small and medium scale businesses of women in the state.

Addressing the women at the office of the wife of the state governor, the wife of the acting governor, Mrs Ajibola Lawal who represented Mrs Tamunominini Makinde, the fisrt lady, reiterated the commitment of her pet project, the Renewed Hope Initiative, RHI and it’s partner Tony Elumelu Foundation to offer grants to empower over 18,000 vulnerable women in the country.

She advised the women to trade with the 50,000# grant in order to enhance financial freedom and to become financially empowered.

In their goodwill messages to the occasion, the commissioners for women affairs and social inclusion and energy and mineral resources, Mrs Toyin Balogun and Professor Daud Sangodoyin charged the women not to despise a little begining but to invest the money wisely.

Mrs Balogun said the Ministry of Women Affairs would monitor the businesses they embarked upon and empower them the more if found faithful.

The Beneficiaries thanked Senator Tinubu, Chief Mrs Makinde, and the Tony Elumelu foundation for the grant and promised to be judicious with the money.
