The Federal Government has let out its plan to grant waivers to federal hospitals nationwide, allowing them to recruit additional staff.
The Minister of State for Health, Dr. Tunji Alausa, made this revelation during a facility tour of the University College Hospital {UCH} in Ibadan.
The intention, according to him was an effort to address the existing shortage of human resources in the health sector.
The minister emphasized that, during the ongoing recruitment process, each hospital must be transparent and accountable for the allocated slots to prevent abuse of the process.
He reiterated the government’s commitment to making the health sector a driver of the economy, focusing on improving both manpower and infrastructure.
