EXCELLENT SPIRIT – Daniel 6:1-3

¹It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom an hundred and twenty princes, which should be over the whole kingdom;
²And over these three presidents; of whom Daniel was first: that the princes might give accounts unto them, and the king should have no damage.
³Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.
One of the ways by which our ministry can make impact in this end time is when we have an excellent spirit. The name speaks for itself. It is not a mediocre mentality, average spirit, fairly good but excellent. Nothing short of that will be acceptable.
Excellent spirit is attainable. Examples are Paul – Galatians 1:16, Joseph – Genesis 41:38 and Caleb Numbers 14:24. When you operate on that dimension, you could get into lion’s den and come out safely. You could live and serve together with haters of destiny and come out on top. Excellent spirit takes you far above others.
WHAT IS EXCELLENT SPIRIT?
1. It is a spirit of distinction i.e 100% or 90 something (not 30%)
2. is a spirit that starts a project and finish strong without abandonment.
3. This is a mentality that does not take “NO” for an answer. He follows through to
the end, taking note of every step and doing it according to divine pattern.
4. Excellent spirit is clean spirit without envy, destructive tendencies or betrayal.
The God that called you is an excellent God. Psalm 8:1, Job 37:23, Exodus 15:7.
You are commanded to excel – 1Corinthians 14:12. Seek that you may excel. It is not an option. There is no alternative -Psalm 68:34, Isaiah 60:15.
HOW TO HAVE AN EXCELLENT SPIRIT
1. Envy no one, beware of fault finding. Love everybody.
2. Pray for excellent spirit
3. Go for higher learning. Acquire more knowledge – Hosea 4:6
4. Yield yourself totally to the God of excellence. Daniel prayed 3 times daily and so you can.
5. Do not keep company with mediocres. Associate with people of excellence. ie Caleb and Joshua
6. Read books, attend seminars/ bible schools.
7. Determine to be excellent in life.
8. Beware of pride and secret faults. Reuben was once “excellency of dignity, excellency of power” but he fell – Genesis 49:3-4

1. You will always be relevant – Daniel, Joseph
2. You will last long in God’s scheme of things
3. You will always be on top of every situation
4. You will be a shining light to your generation
5. You will make it to the promised land in spite of obstacles
