EKSIEC Distributes Election Materials Ahead of Saturday Poll
The Ekiti State Independent Electoral Commission, EKSIEC has distributed both the sensitive and non sensitive materials ahead of this Saturday’s Local Government and Local Council Development Areas election in the State.
The materials such as ballot papers, ballot boxes, forms, result sheets, among others were distributed at the premises of the Commission in Ado Ekiti in the presence of leadership of participating Politcal parties, observers, security agents and journalists.
Speaking at the occasion, EKSIEC Chairman, Retired Justice Cornelius Akintayo said the materials were being despatched early to ensure timely arrival at the polling units during the exercise.
He explained that the materials have been customised in the name’s of each of the 16 Local Government Areas and the 22 Local Council Development Areas, LCDAs of the state to check rigging and other electoral irregularities.
The spokesperson for Inter Party Advisory Council, IPAC Chief Eponlolaye Olufemi who witnessed the distribution commended the transparent manner in which the exercise was carried out.
He urged EKSIEC not to renege on its promise of providing a level playing field to all parties on election day.
Thirteen Politcal parties have indicated Interest to participate in the Ekiti State Council polls.
