EKITI MONARCHS KILLING: Stakeholders Renew Call for State Police

Some stakeholders in Ekiti State have condemned the killings of two traditional rulers in Ekiti state describing the situation as unfortunate.

The slained monarchs, Onimojo of Imojo Ekiti, Oba Olatunde Olusola and the Elesun of Esun Ekiti, Oba David Ogunsola were murdered in an ambush by unknown gunmen suspected to be kidnappers along Ipao-Oke AKo road in Ikole local Government Area

Chairman of Ajoni local Government, chief Michael Ogungbemi described the killing as barbaric to allow community policing for effective security in the interlands

Speaker of Ekiti state house of Assembly, Mr. Steve Aribasoye noted that it was saddening that some agent of darkness disrupted the peaceful status of Ekiti, thereby creating undue fear through the gruesome killing.

On his part, a former acting governor of the state Mr. Tunji odeyemi attributed the frequent attacks to the porosity and lack of adequate security.
