Don’t Politicise U.S. Labeling of Nigeria as ‘Country of Particular Concern’ – PCU VC

The Vice Chancellor of Precious Cornerstone University, Olaogun, Ibadan, Professor Timothy Adejumo, has cautioned Nigerians against politicizing the declaration of the country as a “country of particular concern” by the President of the United States, Donald Trump.

Professor Adejumo gave the warning during a news conference to flag off activities marking the 4th Convocation Ceremony of the institution.

He emphasized that the matter should not be turned into a blame game, noting that no Nigerian deserves to lose his or her life in any dastardly manner, as the lives of all citizens matter equally.

The Vice Chancellor urged the government to live up to its constitutional responsibility of securing the lives and property of all citizens, irrespective of ethnicity or religion.

Professor Adejumo disclosed that Mr. Lawal Kolawole of the Department of Computer Science topped the list of fourteen first-class graduates with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.84.

He further revealed that seven new courses would commence in the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, in addition to two new postgraduate programmes.

The Vice Chancellor stated that the institution, founded by the Bishop of the Sword of the Spirit Ministries, Bishop Wale Oke, is a faith-based university with all its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes fully accredited.

Activities lined up for the convocation ceremony include a Foundation Day Thanksgiving, a Public Lecture, a Vice Chancellor’s Dinner, and the grand finale featuring the Convocation Lecture, the Award of Degrees, Honorary Degrees, and Prizes scheduled for Tuesday next week.
