The Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ondo State Council, has commended the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Ondo State Governor, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, for donating working devices to members of the chapel.
The chapel, in a statement signed by its Chairman, Comrade Tosin Ajuwon, and Secretary, Fidelis David, expressed appreciation for the gesture, which included Air Tabs for members and an additional iPhone.
According to the chapel, the donation followed a request made by its leadership for support to improve the working tools available to its members.
The chapel said the gesture would enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of members in the discharge of their professional responsibilities, particularly in the rapidly evolving digital media environment.
It noted that access to functional technological devices was essential for timely reporting, communication, research and effective dissemination of information.
The Correspondents’ Chapel also said the donation reflected the CPS’s understanding of the important role journalists play in informing and educating the public and keeping citizens abreast of developments in the state.
It described the gesture as a valuable contribution to the professional development of its members, adding that the devices would assist them in carrying out their duties more effectively.
The chapel expressed optimism that the gesture would further strengthen collaboration between the office of the CPS and the journalism community in Ondo State.
It said it did not take the donation for granted, appreciating Adeniyan for responding positively to the needs of its members.
The statement read in part, “On behalf of the entire members of the Correspondents’ Chapel, we sincerely appreciate your generosity, thoughtfulness and unwavering support.
“We do not take this gesture for granted, and we pray that it will continue to inspire greater collaboration and mutual support between your office and the journalism community in Ondo State.”
The chapel also prayed for God’s continued strength, protection and success for the CPS in his service to the state.
It described Adeniyan as “Oyato,” a Yoruba expression used to describe someone as exceptional or different, while reaffirming its appreciation for the gesture.
The Correspondents’ Chapel said the donated devices would contribute to improving the capacity of its members to report events and developments across Ondo State.
